AC Relay not working...
Last summer my air was working. this summer it is not. Buit the problem seems to be that there is some type of short when I go to turn my fan on. I can't here it when I turn it all the way on high. Nor does the cluth in the compressor kick on. But if I pull the relay (1172 in a '92) and jump it then it kicks on. So I put a new relay in but still no go. In the spring time sometimes it would kick on if I hit a bump. In the fall I installed a new heater core. could I of hit a ground somewhere or is my blower motor gone or a short somewhere?

Re: AC Relay not working...
Shorts blows fuses, and you testet the hi-speed hi-current circuit yourself so that and the fan is not the problem.
Your problem is called poor/ bad/ loose contact, since it kicks in at bumps. It may be caused by oxidation etc. Look at the contact behind the A/C control head panel.
Does the fan work at all btw., in any setting (exept for jumping relay)? If not then there's a HTR-A/C fuse to check out.
All contact areas should be bright & shiny for reliable operation.

The fan kicked on yesterday for a moment. It is not a fuse. I think it is some kind of ground or short. The fan does work.

Re: AC Relay not working...
Still having this problem and wondering if anyone can give me some leads on where to start. I have a few days off to get under the hood and it looks like hot weathers coming.
