? what dual fans should i run?

Hi, right now my car has some ??? dual fans that i hacked the crap out of to fit, they keep it cool, and they dont look to bad under the hood, i have an 89 rs 305 tbi, with a stock rad.

the only real problem is they run to much amprage[sp?], i guess and they burn up every switch i put them on. here pretty soon i will be in the market for newer nicer fans, and i was just wondering which ones would be best for my car.. (like fit in good and everything)

or if you could tell me how to fix the burning up switches problem..

thanks..

Re: ? what dual fans should i run?

A relay is simple to hook up.
a 4 pin relay has the needs hooked up as below:
pin 30 - plug this into the + side of the fan
pin 87 - plug into + side of battery (fused)
pin 86 - ground
pin 85 - plug into 1 side of switch

Switch pin 1 goes to pin 85 on relay
pin 2 goes to + side of battery (fused)

On the switch pin 2 can either be constant power (this means that the fan can be turned on at any time) or it can be put on an ignition only power (this means that the ignition has to be on to get power) I always use a 30/40 amp relay.

Another option would be to install the switch between pin 86 and ground instead of on the 12V side. Your fuse would still go between the battery and pin 87. Either way works just fine, but I prefer to route grounds than to route power.

do you have a radio shack local? they will carry the relay and the plug you are going to need. its just a 30/40 amp relay

Re: ? what dual fans should i run?

go on ebay and look for spal fans, they sell relay kits for about 80 bucks if I remember right or go to spal's website. they give you all you need with very good instructions. I have a set of dual 11" and they work great.
