closed circuit cooling system ?

Hi to all, this is my first post but not the first and only muscle car.

Couple of weeks ago, i had traded my 1974 z28/LT to a 87Iroc Z28.

Head gasket was blown, also there was a cooper radiator on it which was repaired previously. Since I live in overseas, gathering parts is not easy both cost and time. I was a AL core, plastic tank A/T radiator, laying down which is suitable size but designed for closed circuit cooling ie/ doesnt have a cap on radiator.

I have installed it on its original place, connected hoses, the are 2 expansion hoses in the new rad. one for expansion, 2nd for return. I have connected 1st expansion hose to original (3rd gen) expansion tank, 2nd to the heater hose return...started the car for a short time after the gasket renew (mufflers wasnt connected yet) there is no problem so far but after the heating up what shoud I expect? is the original cap on expansion cap good enouh to build pressure inside the colling system or somethins wrong on my setup?

Thanks.
