Coolant level and color issue.

So I had a blown headgasket and fixed it and such. I flushed out the radiator and that was about it. every 2 weeks I'll check the coolant and top it of, its usually down about half an inch. Plus the water is still brown like from when it was blown. God I hope I don't have another blown headgasket. Will I just need to get a coolant flush and just keep flushing the system?

Might just be gunk from an old radiator. Flush it a couple more times to make sure. Do you have any other head gasket symptoms?

You need to flush the block too. All that stuff got in the cooling system, just flushing the radiator isn't good enough, Get a outdoor hose and plug it into your upper heater hose (make sure the water flow goes into the heater core) and take off the upper radiator hose.( I also find it easier to remove the thermostat when I do this so the water can go straight through the engine) Turn the water on and flush the whole engine and cooling system.

I just had mine flushed too and it is really rusty already. What are the symptoms of head gasket problems? Could it be that the flushing job I had done was sub par?

Could also be that the inside of your radiator is rusty too.

Re: Coolant level and color issue.

I would go with a reflush, taking the t-stat out, and flushing the engine, also the heater core, and the radiator.
Also check your oil to make sure it's still good if you haven't done so already.
