Vacuum line on heater valve?

I am going to remove my heater core lines and the heater valve also. My question is what do I do with the vacuum line that connects to the heater valve? Do I just plug it up some how?

Re: Vacuum line on heater valve?

Should be able to plug it...

Everyone steered me away from removing the heater valve two years ago. I was told removing that valve will cause a constant flow of coolant thru your heater core and cause it to wear out much, much faster. As you prob know there is no one that wants to replace a heater core on our vehicles, lol. PAIN IN THE CHEEKS!!!! LOL

You can easily shorten all those heater hoses. It will put your heater valve closer to the back of the passenger side valve cover instead of it's factory position right behind the A/C compressor.

See what others have to say about his mod.

Re: Vacuum line on heater valve?

I totally agree with the others.. plug the line and shorten the hoses. I had to do that on my 92 when the entire blower assembly went out on me so I ripped it all out including the ac. I had the car down to one coolant hose and it ran hotter than hell so that was a lesson learned

Re: Vacuum line on heater valve?

You should be able to plug it just fine.
You might try a local parts store, think I saw it in a Summit mag, maybe Jegs, not sure.
But at any rate you can get I believe rubber caps for the vacumm hookups.
Shouldn't be too much, just add them on next time you order something.
