Dual fan wiring problem
After fixing most of the rats nest that was my dual fan wiring I'm down to this problem. My heavy duty coolant fan relay will not energize. Using a meter I found that both sides of the coil have 12V. One wire on the relay is gray and should be the ground. There is continuity between that wire, the coolant temp switch on the head, and pin D11 of the ECM. If I disconnect the computer, gray no longer has 12V. I tried another computer and same thing, 12V back where I think there should be ground. Should this wire have 12V? I thought it was a ground. Please help/elaborate if possible. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I'm using haynes repair manual wiring diagrams

Re: Dual fan wiring problem
I just grounded the wire that goes to the coolant temp switch and fan works. Now I have to buy a coolant temp switch.

Re: Dual fan wiring problem
I would just splice into that grey wire and run it to ground. then the fan will be on whenever the ignition is on. i've done that with 4 camaros and it works great

Re: Dual fan wiring problem
I just gutted all the relay bs and ran a quick toggle switch on the console off of the power leads and made it a gound kill switch
