Hey guys. I recently went carburated with no heat or A.C. for racing purposes. I still have my HVAC and Heater Core under my dash in tact. This winter I want to remove all of it for weight issues. I will not have to reinstall anything. How do I go about removing all of this. I REALLY don't want to take the dash apart. Could someone help me out on how I should go about doing this? Also, I know it may have been covered but, where can I find a nice cover for the two holes I have in my firewall? I really don't want to butcher up the car to bad. My car is in my signature.
Thanks.
Thanks.
you will have to make your own plate for the firewall, no body offers one AFAIK.
Your probably going to have to remove quite a bit of the dash to get the heater box out, while your in there you can remove all the controls, ducting, ect as well. Its not very hard to remove the dash, it all unscrews.

I done this you can cover or fill with some sheetmetal for a clean look weld or u can use rivets thats up to you
There is not a whole lot holding the dash in. I had the whole thing out on my '82 T/A in about 20 minutes. At the very least you will have to unbolt it and pull it back on the passenger side to get the heater box out.
