Metal hoses

Has anyone ever used G sport metal hoses? I was wondering because I think they would look better than the factory hoses. If people used them, did they like them and which ones did you get for a tpi? I might give these a try because unless you go to all AN fittings, you can't get real braided hoses, so I guess this could be my next best options.

Re: Metal hoses

I thought real braided hoses are ONLY available in pure AN setups?
I'm curious about your question as well though, so i'm tagging on.

Re: Metal hoses

Why did I put G sport, it is actually G Flex. They are made by Mr. Gasket. My bad.

Re: Metal hoses

I know what you are talking about, I used to see it at a local speed shop but I think that it is discontinued, cause I can't find it anymore. The closest I found was this.

I don't know why but that doesn't look very durable. It looks like cheap aluminum, and it looks like it might restrict the coolant cause of all the bumps in the hose. I don't know though, it looks kind of bad but I may be wrong, I'll keep my eye on this one to see if anyone has tried these.

Re: Metal hoses

^^^ That isn't braided though. I agree that it looks cheap, and I think it will look bad under the hood as well. I wasn't aware that you could get non AN fitted braided hoses for this application.

There's the g-flex ones.

If you are just after the looks you may be happier with something (in the right size) like these:

While I understand non functional vanity covers are common in the car world, it still reminds me of the phrase "Lipstick on a pig".

Re: Metal hoses

Nothing cheap about it. G-Flex is stainless steel and is available in powder coated finish.

I'm running it on my car and have been happy with it. Here's some pics of my set-up just before I finished the radiator install.

Re: Metal hoses

What about the lower hose to? I wanted to know if it would work on that bigger hose.

Re: Metal hoses

I don't see why you couldn't use them on the lower hose if they make a diameter big enough. I should get these for my car. It would look so cool if they came in a polished silver or chrome look. Red is ok if everything else is red, otherwise, it looks *****'d.

I have it on the lower hose, too. You can't see it in the pic.

It does come in a chrome finish:

Re: Metal hoses

Because it is metal, I suppose that it could shed heat faster through the ripples and fins. I want to know more about this before I buy it cause it looks to be quite expensive.
