Heater hose connection to water pump instead of radiator..

Yeah, I know, long topic
So - I am almost finished swapping a 350 TPI to my car, and I have a problem with a heater hose connections.. The one hose that should go to the radiator bung cant go there becouse I have no bung there
So I understand that on some older (different) engines it used to go to the water pump.
I have a TPI water pump with a plug in this place. So a question is what should I buy to put there instead of a plug..?
I looked at Summit racing but didnt find anything what would.. well work.. :P
Thank you.

The hot coolant should go out of the intake, cool off in the heater core, and come back into the water pump at that plug on the top of it.

Yeah, I do know that.. But new TPI engines had the watter pump plugged and the hose used to go to the radiator.. But since my radiator does not have a place for that hose I must route it to the water pump.

But like I said, I have my water pump plugged, and I need to unscrew the plug and screw.. something.. to where the hose will I plug ;P
And I dont know where and what to buy..

Simply ask for the heater hose to water pump connector. I purchased mine off the shelf at CarQuest.

Oh, well in that case it's most likely going to be called a heater hose fitting. It's just a 1/2" pipe thread on one side and a 3/4" hose connection on the other. I know we have them at my work, but I'd think any automotive store would also. Might be able to get it at a plumbing store also.

just get one of these, attached, its a npt to barb fitting. take out the plug you have in the radiator and take it along with your heater hose to any pluming shop or Lowes or Home Depot and they should be able to match u a npt to barb fitting.

I've put in an 85 TPI 305 into my 57 Chev convert. The water pump used to be the connection for the heater core outlet; the 85's had a place in the radiator - which , of course, the 57 does NOT.

Te plug at the top of the water pump, is plugged; is there a lower radiator hose-outlet combination piece made - or has someone run into this before?

Thanks!

Take the plug out of the water pump. Thread in a hose nipple, and go.

The tight fit doesn't allow for the hose nipple. The alternator bracket and fuel lines, plus coolant temp sensors are all in that same area.

Is there a water pump(long style) that has a heater core port on the engine's right side?

I don't know why it wouldn't fit... I had the hose running to a nipple in the stock water pump on a 1986 TPI Trans Am. It was tight, but it fit just fine.
