Air Filter

Does putting a k&n filter right on the throttle body work better than the stock way of having the 2 air filters in the air lid?

Re: Air Filter

No. Your two stock filters draw cool air from the outside. Mounting a filter to the throttle body will just suck hot engine bay air. Replacing your stock filters with K&N's (or whatever brand u like) and opening up the filter base is a common upgrade for the camaro air intake. Also according to your sig, your 87 will have a mass airflow sensor which would be eliminated if u were to put the filter on the throttlebody. Unless you switch to speed density your car wont run that way.
