Heater hose to engine block

The info I found for changing out the heater core was great. Now how the heck do I replace the heater hose that goes almost straight down into the block? I had to cut it off the core cuz it had turned into glue.

It's been pointed out that I should be more clear. The engine/car in question is a 5.7L IROC (1988).

Check post #5 of the following link for info that may be helpful:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/cool...g-coolant.html

If the above proves useless, you'll find that a search will likely locate what you're looking for. Good luck.

Re: Heater hose to engine block

Thanks guys. I didn't realize the hose went to the pipe underneath. In the dark It looked to me like it went into the block (couldn't figure out why though). I need to get it on a rack. It looks like replacing the core WAS the hard part.
