Cold air intake for 3rd Gen

Iv been wanting to put a cold air intake on my 1984 z28 for a while.....but theres really no kits for the 3rd gen camaros. I was thinking of just making my own with a Spectre pro-fab kit. Any thoughts... will it keep my car running cooler?

no, that not what its for. Its to provide cooler air for the carb/throttle body, possibly resulting in some extra power.

If you are overheating, thats a different issue

Re: Cold air intake for 3rd Gen

Seeing how you have a camaro you already have the best cold air flow your going to get. Only thing better is to gut the bottom of the air box and throw some K&N filters on there. I mean if you want to run a custom chrome spectra kit just to make it look custom by all means go for it but as a matter of function you already have enough flow for that engine.

Re: Cold air intake for 3rd Gen

I was thinking of trying to modify the air box for a better flow of air. Iv read a few times that the engine bay in the 3rd gens. can tend to get really hot due to limited flow of outside air under the hood...... hopefully this will work... thanks.
