i broke the thermostat stud, i have enough to grab it with vice grpis, sounds easy but i have soaked it in deep creep and pb blaster for the past 3 days, heated it up with a mapp torch, and still nothing.

any ideas? i really don't feel like drilling the whole thing out

 

what car? if the manifold is aluminum, the bolt it probably perminatly rotted/fused to the metal. Drill it out

 

it's aluminum, it's a 89 tpi. i just snapped the rest off so i guess drilling is the only option left

 

drilling out isn't so bad anyway. Just tedious.

 

the bolt is mostly corrosion now anyway, shouldn't be too hard to drill out. Just go slow, you dont want to break the bit off in the hole.
