Fan comes on before the car even starts

If i turn the key to turn the radio on or whatever.. the fan turns on aswell. Someone obvious rigged it to do this before me but its extremely annoying. What would i have to do?

trouble shoot the wiring... get a diagram and check everything. but one thing... the a/c isnt on when this happens right? the climate control is off?

Sounds like they grounded the green wire with a white stripe coming out of the fan relay.

Thats how it was on my car, I was lucky, they previous owner left me with enough wire coming out of the relay to splice it back together after replacing the switch and relay.

if the old owner of the car did that, it was probably because of a bad switch/relay if your fan doesn't come on at all after you fix it, just replace both. their not that expensive, just make sure the parts store gives you the right thing.

or you may possibly be lucky and find none of your wiring hacked up, and just have a relay/switch that went bad in the on position and stayed like that. Not sure on the likelyhood of that though, good luck

Does you fan run all the time? I spliced into my green wire and hooked it up to a toggle switch so I can ground it to have mine run all the time. And I can disconnect the wire if I want to and have it factory. I leave mine on in the summer heat. It stays cooler with the fan even when I am going down the highway.
