12 volt problem with altenator and fan relay
hello all
i have a 1988 chevrolet camaro iroc z Vin F
i have some problems with my 12 vol on the tan/white wire
i have 2 fans and a working A/C i have 2 new fan relays and a new temp switch (a lower temp fan switch)
it have never worked before because the other owner has make a manual switch!
but that killing my altenator 2 times!
that is the reason why i will make it original with a lower temp switch!
so there comes one tan/white wire from the bulk connector and going to the altenator!from the alternator it splice to the fan relays!
this is the tan/white wire!
i have search alot and everyone tell that that wire must have 12 volt with the ignition on!
i have 2.5 / 3 volts on it
when i pull the plug off the altenator i have 11 volts when i put it back i got again 3 volts!
when the car is running i got 12 volt on the tan/white wire (only wen the car is hot)
but when the switch must give a ground signal nothing happend!
when i put the ground wire one the chassis the altenator stops charging
and the fans not going on!
even when i pull the A/C on the altenator is stopping charging.
i dont udertand why i have no 12 volt on the tan/white wire
also the green/white wire has 2.5/3 volts on it
remember everything is new, even the altenator
is there anyone else who has the same problem

Haha well at least you found out your problem.
My grandpa always tells me "the first thing you do is check the fuse"
Enjoi your 12 volts =]
