overheating with a/c on
I have replaced everything in the air conditioning
when I am driving without stopping the temp seems to stay normal
as soon as I get into town in the stop and go traffic the motor starts to overheat
my dual fan setup works just fine and I have a brand new radiator
I was thinking of putting a fan on the outside of the condenser and having it push air through
the air deflection shield is fine
is it because the motor is 60 over with 10:1 compression
any help would be great

Re: overheating with a/c on
I was having the same problem. The issue is that the a/c condenser mounts in front of the radiator and when the a/c is on that condenser gets hot and fans are pulling all that hot air through the radiator raising the coolant temp. You said you have a new radiator. Is it a stock radiator or aftermarket? The factory radiator should be good enough for stock to mildly modified engines but if you're making more hp(400+) then you're gonna need a bigger radiator preferabbly aluminum two or three core. I bought a 3 core aluminum on ebay and now I don't overheat in traffic with the a/c on.
