Radiator Replacement

So last night my radiator fan got jostled loose somehow, shredded my radiator... lovely... Luckily where I live it's 22 degrees out at night. Anways, I took a radiator off my backup 91 bird ( 3.4 v6), and popped it in the trans am.

Sooo.... I get all but one hose hooked up and say a few curse words realizing, I'm one valve short on the radiator to hook this dang hose up to. I believe it's my heater return hose? Big suma-bish that runs from my firewall, and into the top of the radiator under the cap ( Not as big as the intake manifold hose but, close).

After a little research, I learned I could hook this sucker up to my water pump with a little fitment adapter. So finally,my question...

Pro's and Con's of hooking it up like this Vs Hooking it up as it was, on the radiator?

Re: Radiator Replacement

many older setups have one hose from the water pump and a hose from the manifold to the heater core. So long as you have one hose on the pump and the other on the other on the manifold it will circulate. the hoses may pass through other valves first, depending on years.
