some places will check your radiator for free or a small fee, is it still the original radiator?

if the radiator has not been out of the car in a while,
there might be leaves, litter, bugs, etc packed between
the condensor and radiator. When it's idling and getting
hot, does the radiator and hoses get real hot too?-if
they do,sounds like circulation is good, but radiator not
disapating the heat for some reason
On the original dual fan setup, only one fan comes on
at first, the 2nd comes on at a higher temp if temp
continues to raise, one fan should be able to cool at
idle in cool weather.

Re: stressful cooling problem need help
you may have a clog somewhere other than your radiator so a back flush would be a good way to make sure everything is flowing properly, and yeah they run hot but ive never seen a normal running thirdgen get over 220-230 without having some kind of issue, mine just recently started acting up but the cooling system is easy to take care of unless you got a cracked head or gasket(and all that is is money really, if you have patients nothing is extremely difficult), ive learned alot on this forum, and am asking for help in my own thread at the moment

Re: stressful cooling problem need help
If you had it at the track and it just started there, then it is probably head gaskets and possibly a cracked head. if you keep the car above 45 MPH that takes the fans out of the equation and leans toward the above or a blockage. I have a be-cool radiator and wired my fans to come on manually in traffic and mine is solved.

Re: stressful cooling problem need help
just an update from me, i backflushed my system today and everything is flowing nicely(though you should have seen the crud that came out), i suggest start with a backflush(buy the $3 kit and run some cleaner $5 or just some dish powder through your system), im thinking its a clog because usually when you have a blown head gasket you loose to much pressure in the system to blow a cap off
