Location of Cooling Fan Relay

Location of Cooling Fan Relay

All stock 1990 RS Camaro with the 3.1L V6. Recently purchased about 2 months ago. Single fan setup. I have the diagrams for the car from Haynes Manual and they show the location of the relay but I cannot find it. I just flushed radiator and engine. New install of thermostat, water neck, upper and lower hoses. It started to act unusual when it was idling. Temperature fluctuated and pretty quickly. So with all this now changed I was hoping for the best only to be disappointed. The fan is not working and I don't believe it to be bad so I would like to start with the sensors before I get in too deep. If anyone could I help I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks.

The fan relay is by the booster.
It’s the one on the left.

Due to the person above's signature, I assumed it was the one on the left (while working under the hood).

"Left", is a relative position based on a person's discretion. I am confirming the RELAY is on the DRIVER MOST SIDE, behind a bracket which must be removed to unplug the relay's.

The relay's both behind that bracket have a white security pin, which you must use a flat head screw driver from behind to push it in, and pull it out with your hands. Very simple to get those out, however, it was a pain to remove the relays from the connector, so I worked it with a flat head at the connection gently while pulling back the clip.

Dump the old, useless terms such as "left" and "Right" and start using "driver" / "passenger" side for better reference.

Correct automotive terms are left and right as per all service manuals written in the past 100 years.

And FYI, left and right are determined by sitting in the driver's seat. No need to come up with a new system since this one works without fail.

It is not a new system, it has been used for many years now. Any person with an education dealing with the automotive field knows that. Left and right terms leave room for error based on the persons' interpretation. No one cares about what "service manuals" try to standardize unless we need to figure out what they are referring to.
Sure understanding terminology in books is important, but it is ignorant to keep using such a set of terms which is more probable for misinterpretation.
Why go with the risk factor and confusing way of doing things when there is a better, simpler way? Seems ignorant to me.
Thanks for the explanation though, I am sure it will help people in the future.

There is a bracket, between the brake vacuum booster and the fender, that has 2 relays, one is fan, other is fuel pump. The bracket is held to firewall with two 10mm screws. Both are usually the same looking relay. The one for the fan has a large black with red stripe wire to it, that's how to tell one from the other.

Yeah, the fan relay has four wires going to it, the one next to it has five. If you turn on the AC with the key on and your fan goes on your relay is working fine
