stock radiator
stock water pump
160* thermostat
Ford Taurus cooling fan bought off eBay for $50

It's really that simple... I know this has been discussed many times before on here but I just put one of these Taurus fans onto my car and all my overheating issues have gone away. Prior to this I was running the stock dual TPI fans and the car would always overheat at idle & low speeds even in colder weather. I always just dealt with it because I didn't really drive the car that often and didn't want to fork out hundreds of dollars on a new cooling system but a few weeks ago I bought this fan and decided to give it a whirl... Took like 20 minutes to install and almost looks like it belongs there stock.

Conveniently, a day after installing it the transmission in my daily driver died so I'm forced to use the camaro as my only form of transportation for the time being... I've put about 600 miles on it since in all sorts of driving conditions and the temp gauge stays right at 160 no matter what.

Just throwing this out there for you guys with cooling problems. My car has been 11.20's @ 121mph on motor and weighs 3495lbs so it makes some decent power - If this simple setup can keep my car cool it should do the trick for most others.

1990-95 with the 3.8L or SHO v6-these fans have a big
2 speed motor, not sure how much current they pull on
high speed but it might be around 25-30a-a wiring
upgrade might be needed. I have one of these fans in
my parts stash-might have to drag out and test the
current draw

Any issues mounting it or advice? How did you wire it for the 2 speeds or is it all or none?

The fan itself fits easily against the radiator and is mounted using those nylon through-radiator zip ties. The plastic radiator cover needs to be trimmed or you could easily make a custom one. Mine is wired on high with a toggle switch and a 40amp relay. If you do some google searches for "taurus fan install" you'll find a ton of info on wiring it to work with both speeds.

Just noticed your post regarding this Taurus fan. My 2 fan setup died today. Did you have any issues with the wiring harness or did you have to cut and splice for it to go on?
