a/c help in Phoenix
Can anyone in the Phoenix area PLEASE recommend a good a/c shop? The a/c died in my "92 3.1 and I want to explore the pro's and con's of changing to R134A. Clutch/comp are growling, so those get replaced for sure. A/C is not my area of expertise so I am at a shops mercy! Any ideas of cost for either stock replacement or retrofit to R134A? It was a 115 here 2 days ago! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: a/c help in Phoenix
I take my 88 IROC to Mike's Auto Tech in Glendale. Mike is a third gen fan and has had several of them so he knows what he's doing. His shop does A/C, and he has always been straight with me. His number is 623-979-2653 and the address is 6844 W. Belmont Ave.

You could also try Dale Betram at http://www.fairwayautorepair.com/. He's a member of the local FBody club (www.azfba.com) and runs Fairway Auto in central Phoenix.
