Wierd overheating pleaseeeee help

Wierd overheating pleaseeeee help

I have a huge aluminum radiator with attactched overflow no a/c and an electric fan why is my car getting up to 210* with just a little bit of driving? plaese help thanks
okay i found out i dont have an air dam would this cause all this?

If it's overheating on the highway it might. But, does your ground effects have any sort of air dam built in? Some of the SC cars had the air dam as a part of the ground effects.

Otherwise, see what temp the fan is coming on at, maybe try a 180 thermostat, try a new rad cap, check timing.

just put 180 thermostat in and its a newer cap. timing im thinking is off but pretty darn close, my carb is also just set by ear so maybe thats causing it? the ground effects kinda look like they kinda would push it up but still could maybe use a air dam i dont know?

If your car stays at an acceptable temp when idling or cruising around town casually, but heats up at higher speeds or on the freeway, then I would say YES you need an air dam if you don't have one. Lots of posts on the cooling forum if you need pictures. Use the search feature. Happy cooling!
