temperature gauge problem

temperature gauge problem

my temperature gauge isnt working, how can i tell if the gauge is bad? when i crank on the car the gauge pegs its self but the gauge doesnt move as the car heats up, any help here would help!!

mines having the same problom but i cant get the old sending unit out, I think it fused itself to the aluminum but did you check your sending unit and/or the wires going to the sending unit. BTW i have a carbed 305

mines a 2.8, i havent checked the wireing yet, i need too, its bugging me not knowing how hot my car is running

Ground the wire on the sensor w/the ing on.If the needle moves the gauge should be fine.I think thats basically what happens while your cranking the eng, but double check it anyway.

Its probably the sensor though.

Had the same problem,I cut the old wire end off and put a new one on and everything works fine.Probably the end!
