A/C Help
A/C Help
I have a 2000 Camaro with the 3.8 V6 and I have a question about the A/C. I bought the car used with the A/C not working. I replaced the compressor, drier and orifice tube then I thought I had cleaned the system well using alcohol and compressed air but the compressor locked up ten minutes after adding freon. I removed the orifice tube and found it clogged with powdered aluminum. Ok, here's my question. I plan to replace the condenser, compressor, drier, orifice tube and all lines/hoses. Since I've heard it's such a difficult task, can I just flush the evaporator core and if so could someone please tell me about doing this and what to use to flush it? Thanks guys!

Feeling Flush
Yes, flush away !
Auto parts stores carry pre-mixed flush solutions or kits to speed up the pit stop.
When you were fixing the old system, you didn’t say you added oil.
Don’t forget it.
