not sure where to post... ac/heater box..

how do i remove the ac and heater box on my firebird? i am getting the smaller one for the ac delete but im not sure how to remove my old one

can some one tell me the trick?

There are 3 bolts and a nut on the top side of the heater box on the firewall side. The nut can sometimes be tricky as the stud will tend to turn. It is inverted torx. A 4mm socket will also do the trick to hold it. Once those are out you will have to drop the kick panel on the inside of the car, and there are (IIRC) 3 bolts that hold the bottom of the box to the firewall. Once those are out you can pull the box off of the firewall. Take your time it can be a PITA to break lose. There is a double sided tape like foam seal around the perimeter of the box to seal it. Carefully pry the box from the firewall. It is firberglass and prone to cracking.

im a little confused. i removed the top bolts from the outside of the car around the top of the box so are there any bolts inside the car that i have to remove?

yes there are bolts on the inside - bottom of pass side floor area
