Whats going on here did the Po remove the heater core?

So when I bought my 86 Firebird I noticed it had a true a/c delete. Has the under steering wheel vent controls and what not. What I don't like is that there is no metal (cooper color) lines sticking through the firewall. The holes of course are there and so were the lines on the pass frame rail.

Did the po remove it? I def want heat.

If so would a core from my 92 do the job or am I better off with a new one?

Yes it's been removed if there are no pipes on the firewall.

They are the same for 86 and 92. But you might want a new one since it's not a nice job to do twice.
