Bad Fan Motor?

My car has been overheating recently and I found out that the fan isn't coming on. I tried to spin the blades but they were stuck solid. shouldn't it spin freely? i think the motor is bad but i want to make sure before i buy a new one.

Re: Bad Fan Motor?

a real no brainer , you should be able to turn blades by hand . sounds like motor has seized . hope thats the only problem , good luck .

Re: Bad Fan Motor?

I hope so too. I've been dealing with so many issues lately with this car. It'll be worth it in the end though. I'm pretty much replacing everything worn out in the front end...which is everything. A new fan motor is the least of my worries. Thanks!
