Re: air filter choking sound

With you having the TPI, it could be a mass air flow sensor issue or your filter could be dirty. Do you have a high flow filter, like K&N, Spectre, etc?
Also, there have been tests done that prove that if you use a high flow air filter on a vehicle with a MAF sensor, you will get worse gas milage and run richer. I believe that is mostly on Dodges though. Just thought of mention it though. Just in case.

Re: air filter choking sound

It just happens when you rev it up real quick though? What does the motor sound like if you hold the rev at 2000 rpm or so? Does it have a miss? Act like it's starving for something? And is your throttle response good or does it have a delay?

Re: air filter choking sound

there is a delay in throttle response and its not missing. it does sound like the filter is not letting enough air

Re: air filter choking sound

Take apart your air intake tubes and see if you have anything in there. Dust, leaves, anything that would get in the way. Or try cleaning and oiling your filter. The high flow filters are cotton and need to be oiled every once in a while to do their job.
