Cooling Fan Wiring Question

Hello gentlemen and ladies,

Have a quick question that I was hoping that I could get some feedback on. Just bought a beautiful 1992 Camaro RS 305 5.0 (I know not the beast but beastly enough) I plan on performing a 383 stoker swap in a few months but that is all aside of the point and my question. I bought her with a bad trans and just swapped the trans, found a nice 700R4 for $300; while I was under the hood I noticed that the cooling fan wires have been cut and were not plugged in correctly, SO I have to wire the hot directly to the battery in order to keep her cool (I was thinking about throwing in a toggle switch and running it into the interior BUT i would rather just hook them back where they belong so they spin when temp reaches 200-210 like normal. I noticed that the old radiator that I just swapped did not have a temp sensor in it and bought one to put into it but my haynes manual is mildly unhelpful in the wiring diagram. I know that the red/black wire is the power and it also mentions a brown wire that leads off the alternator. Does anyone have some good information to get my fans running without having to run a toggle switch? I appreciate any help and feedback!

Thank you everyone

Re: Cooling Fan Wiring Question

Since yours is already cut get an aftermarket fan controler and if you get the right one you will have total control. Flexalite has one for two fans that is about $100.00 and does everything. You can select the temp they come one and can wire them to work with the A/C and also turn them on manually with a toggle. The only way to go.
