Fan stealing too much power?

I have an 86 Firebird with a 305TPI swapped in with a Hayden adjustable fan controller. Whenever the fan kicks on the motor tries to die. I used the junction box from the 2.8 harness to supply "Hot" wires to the alternator, Fuel pump, and fan controller. Could the fan be robbing the fuel pump of power or overworking the alternator? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Re: Fan stealing too much power?

i have the same problem, when i flip my fan switch.lights dim idle drops a lil, then pick back up,and all is fine.its because the alt cant handle the sudden voltage,so maybe need bugger alt,or re grounding engine to batt, engine to firewall, alt to batt

Re: Fan stealing too much power?

I seem to have solved my own problem, try tightening the alternator belt, fixed my problem. For now at least. Lol.
