Cycling on and off, with AC on, is usually the symptom of a low charge. The sound may indicate that the compressor is going south. Guessing.

Just a note: The idea seems to be floating around that 12 is difficult to procure. I've never experienced any issues whatsoever either in the town of 1800 where I formerly lived or here in Lawrence.

Re: ac compressor clutch ?

James are you saying that you can change and retro fit from R12 to 134 with out changing anything, like the canister...ect ect? I still have R-12 but know someday I will have to change it to 134

Re: ac compressor clutch ?

My car got converted to R134 and to my knowledge, they didn't change anything out to do it as I wasn't charged for any parts other than the freeon and labor.
