555 bbc cooling issue

just finished putting a 555 in my camaro and everything is working great except it gets a little hot. whenever i go on a short cruise, it will slowly creep up.

here is the build thread.

4 core, 3" thick radiator. check
meziere 55gpm electric water pump. check
air dam. check
new radiator hoses. check
front-to-back crossover hoses. check
shroud. check
no hood, and a very open front end. (no crash bar, condenser, or anything in the way)
dual 12" fans that came with the radiator. 1000cfm each.

I am thinking that the fans are a bit small. unless i am missing something obvious, i think i will get dual Derale 14" fans that are 2100CFM each.

Maybe need a better fan controller. What are you using for that? Is it adjustable? What's it set at? What temp thermostat?

Re: 555 bbc cooling issue

i don't have a fan controller, just a Painless Wiring switch panel. the fans are 100% all the time. no thermostat because of the electric water pump. i just flip the fans on at about 150-160.
