blockage somwhere

i have a 82 trans am with a 5.0 cross fire injection.

it currently has a new radiator, water pump and a stat.

it t over heating and i can think of what else it could be but a blockage in the block somewhere.

any tricking on finding it and removing it? the upper rad hose stays cold and my lower and heater hose gets hot.

Re: blockage somwhere

if your upper hose stays cold thats an indication that the tstat isnt opening. take it out and drop it in a pot of nearly boiling water and see if it opens. did you get the reverse flow water pump or the standard flow?

Re: blockage somwhere

I guess I have a bad head gasket

Drilled a hole in the stat and now runs at operating temp
it kept air locking itself

Re: blockage somwhere

it could be that your tstat just isnt opening, did you ever verify that it was by placing it in a pot of boiling water?
