Heater diverter valve bypass.
Heater diverter valve bypass.
As I mentioned in my post from the other day I just bought a 1988 Firebird with a 2.8 V6. I noticed later that the heater diverter valve is just sitting there not hooked to anything. Actually it looks like the hoses were cut off. So because of this there's an open gap in the cooling system and I obviously can't run it.
I really need this thing on the road as soon as possible (it'd be my only good source of transportation). For now I'd like to just bypass the damn valve or hook it back up if I have time and it isn't leaking. Could anyone possibly describe what I need to do to make a quick patch job on it? Like what size hose it uses and where each hose should go etc. I found my lost Haynes manual but I can't find anything much that really pertains to it.
Thanks.
