I bought a 1992 RS with a 3.6

The fan was wired to a switch which worked but when I forgot to turn it off it burned a fuse that was in the wiring leading to the fan in the engine. Needless to say this hard wire job was done by a hack, so I am wondering what is the correct problem then? Or what could it be rather. I was thinking the motor, but I have never had any fan problems before, so I am not kean (yet) on fixing the problem.
