Re: 4th gen air dam on third gen?

Its not easier or harder. I have to buy one regardless. My car is lowered and I'd like to try something new besides replacing the stock one, that was designed for a Car with a stock ride height. I believe, not 100% sure, that the 4th gen air dam is not as long(deep). Therefore it might not break when I clear a dip in the road. I'm gonna get one and post pics. I've noticed a few other posts wondering the same question I am. So I'll just try to end this soon since no one else seems to know.

Re: 4th gen air dam on third gen?

I only asked because my RS had lowered itself over the course of 220k miles and the stock air dam was never really an issue as far as dragging. It was low enough to have to pick the front up a bit to get a jack under the engine x member. OEM should be a reasonably flexible urethane-ish (or maybe black nylon) plastic that isn't very prone to breaking, you can trim off what you need with a jig-saw.

The 4thgen might be a bit shorter but, it spans the width of the radiator support and doesn't mount quite the same.
Here's the one on my '93 (my phone takes pretty bad pictures)... it's a camaro. I doubt the payoff to get it to work would be worth the effort.

Hmm I see, it does mount differently than I thought the 4th gen ones did. That won't work like I had hoped. Thanks for the pic!! Maybe I'll just buy a stock one or dabble with making my own. I like that kinda stuff.

It's too bad cause Emblempros has a polished one for the 4th gen that I'd be interested in.
