electric vs clutch fan cfm's?
how many cfms's does a clutch fan on a 350 produce compared to that of a stock 3.1L 92 rs's?
looking to put an electric fan in my truck and i have this one laying around, i know electric fans look small but can pack quite a punch so thats why im asking

Re: electric vs clutch fan cfm's?
this is an untrue statement. i have seen way more vehicles with bigger radiators and mechanical fans. mechanical fans will move a lot of air. for 75% of the time way more than electric fans. i have seen electric fans have trouble pulling air thru a 3 core. and a mechanical fan due good with a four core.

I agree that mech fans are much more effecient, but my point is that the rads are wider & taller (not thicker) w/ an electriclly cooled fan. Just look at the rad from a fwd Lesabre, the fan is as wide as one in a suburban & the fan barely runs to cool the car, not like a 350 camaro.

I ran a 3.1 fan from a 92 camaro to cool my old 357 in my IROC, and it consistently ran cool at 170-190 degrees.
