i need some advice with this cooling fan

My car has been overheating bad lately. It cools down when I stop, heats up when I drive. I do not have an air dam, but do have a functioning grill. Outta curiosity, I checked the direction of my fan, and its blowing through the rad towards the front of the car. So when I start moving, I'm canceling out the fan.

This is my guess. Here is a pic of the label on my fan. The arrow is pointing towards the frontof the car.

I pulled the shroud to see if I could do anything about air direction and noticed how the fan is pinned to the radiator. These look like one time connections. I'm afraid to break them with too much force. Here's the front.

And here is the back.

I have the transmission cooler in front of the radiator. My thoughts are that I either buy a new, correct fan, or figure out how to remove this one and mount it to the front of the trans cooler, so it blows correctly into the engine bay.

Am I correct in my line of thinking? Has anyone dealt with a fan like this and knows how to remove the pins without breaking them? Can I mount this thing to the front of the trans cooler?

I need help with this fast, and appreciate your time.

I believe the first thing I need to do is get it blowing the correct way. I spend most of my time driving 40 MPH or less. I have read the air dam only makes a diff at highway speeds. Is that wrong?

Can the fan be mounted in front of the cooler?

Re: i need some advice with this cooling fan

on many of those fans, the fan blade can be unclipped
from the motor, flipped over for correct blade rotation,
and the motor connected for correct rotation.
A fan pulling through the radiator is much more
effective than the same fan pushing air through the
radiator from the front-this is because the fan imparts
rotation upon the air it propells, causing the air to hit
the tubes and fins at an angle-reducing velocity.

Re: i need some advice with this cooling fan

simplest/cheapest - move the fan to the front. Dremel tool to cut the plastic pins, prob have to extend the wiring to pin it to the front? Make sure it fits in front first and find new pins before starting. air dam works when yr moving, creates vacuum behind it helping pull air through the rad.
