Water Pump

Hi,

I bought a new water pump for my V6 and the stupid thing didn't some with the pipe that connects to the heater core hose. I tried to take the one from the old pump but that broke at the threads. Is it possible to get these or what would they be called.

Thanks.

Re: Water Pump

Hi,

Sorry I am not familiar with "Hose barb". Would you have a link. I live in Ireland where everything is metric. Sure hope the connection is metric and not standard.

Thanks.

A hose barb is a generic part... It'll be NPT thread on the pipe side, not metric.

Re: Water Pump

I see now, Thanks for the link

Camarosrock1989 the one I bought was new. I had a look and most of them come with the connection. Think I was unlucky that the pile of crap I bought didn't have it.

Re: Water Pump

Picked mine up today and have it in the car! Wow so sweet the sound of a motor without the rattle. The only problem is after installing the pump, took it for a 15 min drive and it stalled on me twice. My car never stalls. Almost seems like it was idling low. weird.

Re: Water Pump

What size hose barb do I need. The measured the broken pipe I have and it is smaller than 7/8" but larger than 3/4". I had a look for hose barbs and from what I can see they come in 3/4" and 1" sizes. What size in standard measurement should I be looking for.

Thanks.
