Is this the correct coolant sensor?, Please Help

Ok guys, I have been having issues with my temp gauge not reading correctly since I got my iroc, so I have been wanting to replace the coolant sensor, but every parts store that I go to does not sell the same sensor thats in my iroc, the coolant sensor they all are selling is a little a different, I have posted two pics, one with the current sensor(Pic On The Left) the other with the sensor I bought from autozone(Pic on the Right), My question is:

Does anybody know where I can get the original sensor from that is pictured?

If I cant get the original, can the one I bought from autozone be used, or is it the wrong one?

Please help guys really want to get this issued resolved asap!!!

the one in your hand is a cts and give a reading to the ecm. That is located in the front of the intake manifold it is also the same as your mat. you can find the correct one in your cylinder head for the temp gauge at rockauto.com some aftermarket ones will have a masle spade instead of the nailhead fitting.

Just to clarify when you go to a parts store you must state you need a temperature SENDER not a sensor. Sensor is for the ECU and Senders are for the gauges. Makes a big difference when the person behind the counter is not all there.
