squeeling ac compressor

Engine: 2.8l
Transmission: automatic
squeeling ac compressor

when i baught my car a year ago the ac didnt work. i know the compressor is bad. everytime i start my car it squeels like you cant beleive. the squeeling stops after about 20 minutes of running but i usually use wd40 to stop the squeeking all together. i know that this isnt good for multiple reasons but i cant stand the squeek. how can i perminantly stop the squeeling. i have a 2.8l 88 rs

Well, you have 2 options. Either way, that compressor pulley bearing is going to seize.

1. If you want working A/C at some point, replace the compressor.
2. If you could care less about the A/C, yank the compressor after making sure the system is empty and reroute the belt.

But, before doing that, check the belt tension by looking at the marks on the tensioner. If the arrow on the tensioner is outside the scale on the top of the housing, you need a new belt and that's why it's squealing.

"yup"

Start with the cheaper option first, just because a compressor leaks or doesn't work, doesn't mean it'll cause a belt squeak. In fact, it would "rattle" more squeal. More of a sqeak/rattle than a squeal.
