Car: 84 Firebird: F41, Pwr, Instr Pkg
Engine: LC1 (V6 2.8L, 280k mi)
Transmission: MD8 (700R4)
Axle/Gears: GU5 (3.23)
What Comprised the Factory V08 "Heavy-duty cooling system" on early 3rd gens?

In looking at the available options on 84s (& 82s and 83s I think) RPO V08 Heavy Duty Cooling System is listed as:

Code:
V08 - $70 without C60 (air)
V08 - $40 with C60 (air)
It was not avail w/ L69. Based on my searches there were 2 radiators available, 26" and 21". The different radiators may have also been a part of the C60 (air) option as well or maybe different engines. But there must have been two(2) components at least with the V08 given the 2 different prices. Perhaps a different radiator AND fan? Other item(s)?

My '84 V6 has C60 (air), a 26" radiator (I think, need to verify) and a three(3) blade fan. It does NOT have V08 Heavy Duty cooling.

I had a 84 h.o. with that. hd cooling was a staggered 3 row radiator. plastic tanks/aluminum core. Mine was purchased new so L-69's could be ordered with it in the 84 model year.

Purely guessing here. But I know that the Z51 package on the 84 Corvettes had a longer air dam compared to the regular Corvettes.

Oil cooler?

The radiator was it. Aside from that it had no other special things. Electric fan was a 5 blade IIRC but that was on all h.o. cars. Had power steering cooler, I saw quite a few h.o cars in the day as well as LG-4's and they all had single core radiators but had everything else mine had.

The air dam was determined on if you had the aero package or not but wasn't special to the HD cooling.

No oil cooler was on mine.
