ok. I'm gonna run a mechanical fan and clutch on my 89 with a sbc and the serpentine system off of the 305. I know I need a reverse rotation fan and clutch. I have the fan but need the clutch. I was looking at the 82-85 replacement clutches (which are standard rotation) and the clutch height is about 3.6 inches. I found a reverse rotation clutch for a 87-? pickup truck that looks like it will work, but its about 4.25 inches tall. I was wondering how much clearance between the clutch and radiator the factory mechanical fan camaros had to play with. Or what a good option is for a short reverse rotation clutch that will work for me. Please don't tell me to get an electric fan. THanks...

 

could look into 1988-93 chevy caprice or pickups of the same year spread with small block or v6.

 

yeah thats what i'm doing. I was trying to find the shortest clutch so i didn't have clearance issues. I was just wondering if anybody knew of the best one to go for? I was looking at S-10, pick-ups with sbc's, and the caprice.
