Before I embark on the LS1 fan swap...
I keep reading that this is a very effective mod to do to increase fan performance. I keep seeing people swearing that the LS1 fans are identical to the third gen dual fans, but pull more amps. Can anyone verify this? The only thing that I found is that they have different part numbers.
TPI fans are 15-8988, and Elis Juan fans are 15-8404.

If it "pulls more amps", then it's a more powerful motor. (at least, as far as power input)
Most likely it either spins faster or the blades have more pitch.

Then try a 40 amp taurus fan like I did and your overheating days are gone. I did the pepsi challenge with almost all of them and at one time had five fans hooked to the car and nothing comes close to the taurus two speed fan. My other 3rd gens will have one soon.
