Coolant reservior

So my radiator is always full, car never runs hot. Air dam in place. Electric fan works great. I have never seen any coolant in the reservoir. If I add water or coolant to it to the cold or hot level, it never stays, does it just evaporate?? Why does this happen? As long as my car never runs hot enough to expel fluid to the res. I guess I'm good, but I always wondered about it.

The Reservior Should Not be Empty.

Re: Coolant reservior

Could be a leak in the reservoir or the hose to the radiator. Could also try renting a pressure tester from a parts store to see if there's a leak in the system.

When you add coolant to the overflow tank you are effectively adding it to the radiator.

When the engine cools, coolant is drawn from the overflow tank to the radiator.

That’s why the overflow tank keeps getting lower in your case.

You are losing it VIA leaking or the exhaust.

Happy Racing !
