Heater Control Valve and AC delete question

So I keep having problems with my Heater Control Valve leaking. The plastic keeps cracking. Ive seen people delete these. I am planning on removing some of my A/C components as I don't use my A/C. The lines going from the pump, the canister, and the radiator type thing behind the canister (forget the name) will be removed.

First question; will removing these components affect my heat or defrost?

Second; can I delete the Heater Control Valve and still retain full use of my heat and defrost?

Thanks for any help
Bill
