Need help dont know what to do my car keeps heating up
I have a stock 84 camaro z28 5.0 ho with stock fan with a 180 thermostat i replaced the electric fan switch with one from autozone, and my car still over heats, my fans seem to not be working properly they wont turn on unless i spin the electric fan then it will stay on then turn back off after a while while the car is still hot, what do you suggest i do??

If u have to spin the fan to start the fan, the fan motor is trash and u need a new one. The 180 stat is too cool, should be at least a 195. The factory fan switch wont turn the fans un till almost 230 degrees in some applications so you are better off getting a aftermarket one matched to yous stat temp range.
Fix these things and see what happens.
Does the car have the factory air dam in place?
You may need a new radiator cap as a weak one will let the car get to hot to fast.

You do not need a whole fan assembly, just the motor which any auto parts store will carry. Not expensive.
