Question for those who removed their A/C
Question for those who removed their A/C
Hey all,
It's back to work on the bird for me after a long hiatus. So, I finished removing my entire A/C system from my bird - It's quite amazing just how much engine bay space it has opened up! My question now though, is what to do about all the unused wiring that hooked into the various A/C components? It looks like the A/C wiring stuff is all connected to the main wiring harness for everything else under the hood, but hopefully I'm wrong? I've seen some clean looking engine bays from people running TBI setups who yanked out their A/C, without a mess of wiring everywhere where all the old A/C stuff was. Just curious what needs to be done if I want to get all the unused wiring out of there?
Thanks!

What about all the extra unused connections in the harness that are now open? Do I need to plug them up to keep moisture out? Just curious if there's any spot that's best to tuck them too, or if there is a way to get rid of the excess clutter without getting a custom harness?

When I had my harness fully removed I just de-pinned mine but in your case I'd just throw some electrical tape around the pigtails and fold up what you can and get some large wire loom to hide it all.

You might be able to stuff most of the connectors back into the loom that's already there. You might have to fold back some leads to get all of of the connectors inside, and then tape it up with electrical tape so they don't come back out.
