Single - dual fan, which side of radiator gets hotter the fastest?
I'm going to be installing a dual TPI fan in my single electric fan car. I will however, not be hooking both fans up right away. The car is my daily so I can only work on it intermittantly between work and other stuff going on. It may be anywhere from a week to a month before I will get it finished, all depends on what's going on. So, which fan should i hook my single power source up to for the interim, drivers side of passenger side? Which gets hotter? Does it matter?
Will I suffer from a lack of cooling with only the one fan or will it cool similar to my single fan now?

I would just wait to put the dual setup in until you have the time to finish the install. But if I had to wager a guess I'd say wire up the driver's side to work since the hottest fluid is coming through the thermostat and the top hose so in theory it should need the most cooling.

That is one thought. My initial idea was to wire them to run like the dual fan's from the TPI cars. However, I don't have two relay systems to make that work yet. I am going to start buying the stuff for it but I already have the dual fan set up. So I was going to install the dual fans and hook one up for now, then get the other hooked up as I get the parts and get time to work on it.

Just put em on a dip switch, manual controlled, straight from the battery/other constant 12v source. I just flip mine on when I start the car, rarely do I get over 190

I'm looking at a relay that will energize when the current fan switch says "ON", and pulling the primary current for both fans from the battery. That way both fans will come on at the same time. Just don't have the money to get all the parts for it right now.

The other one will turn on on its own, yet the second one you'd have manual control of, if need be.
Dang, seems like the 87 and newer ones got the cool things..
Dual fans, 30 spline tranny's, l98's...

Why run the second one off a relay? You can wire it straight to the battery (probably should use a fuse) and put it on a switch.

A single 14in fan is what I use as a primary and it cools just fine.
I have a secondary back up fan incase it reaches higher temperatures but for the most part its fine on its own.
I would just leave the stock relay alone and install a new 30 amp relay, then wire it in independently/separate of the stock system.
You can have the fan come on and off whenever you want .......
