Re: fire bird or camaro heater core

their info only pertains to the plastic/aluminum cores that they all sell now. tried it. BUT ive just got back from my local pull a part. with a actual OEM Harrison heater core!!!! WOOOO!!! HOOOOO!!!! it came from a 92 RS ,but its a exact match for my dead one. AND it looks like new. I tell ya, I feel like ive just won the lottery,as I have been looking for one of these for the last year. SCORE!!

Maybe... but if it lists the same one for all the cars, or different ones for Bird vs Camaro etc., that's a pretty good clue.

actual OEM Harrison heater core
Just like the one that failed?

Gotta love that "old GM" quality... kinda like the Castech heads I just had to replace in my 5.3 truck...

Re: fire bird or camaro heater core

The FireBirds used the same Heater Core from 82-89.P/N3048945 Don't know if the Camaros were the same, but I would assume they are.
GM Parts Direct: Your direct source for Genuine GM Parts
OEM Catalog
HTR CORE $83.33 $52.00 $52.00 Sub Total: $52.00 If you change quantity, please click Recalculate.
There still listed as available and I used the FireBird P/N.

Re: fire bird or camaro heater core

They do indeed share the same heater core the Camaro and firebird but why would you want to get a used one and not purchase new like others have mentioned? Also it doesn't matter if there v-6 or v-8 there both the same.

around here all the parts houses offer is plastic/ aluminum. NOT gonna cut it. I found a OEM heater core today at pull a part. and I find, the cheap a$$ replacements a joke. I would rather have it as it was, as to have one of those "chinesium" piece of ***** cores. but that's just me. having been there and done that, its a Harrison brass core for me or nothing.

now sofa, we all know what you think of "chinesium" parts. it so happens that I too will avoid them at ALL costs. lessons learned.
